Day 1: arrive and wander
Keep the first day light. Walk the Corniche, enjoy the skyline and have dinner at Souq Waqif. Early nights help if you have flown in from far away.
Day 2: museums and architecture
Visit the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum of Qatar. Add Msheireb Downtown in the afternoon for a look at how traditional design has been reinterpreted.
Day 3: desert safari
A full desert safari, with the Inland Sea if possible, gives you the Qatar of postcards: dunes, camels and a sea that meets the sand.
Day 4: coast and nature
Choose between the north (Al Zubarah, mangroves, Purple Island) and the west (Zekreet, Film City, East-West/West-East). Both are full-day excursions.
Day 5: free day and farewell
Return to your favourite spot, shop at the souq, or book a private dhow cruise for a calm final evening on the bay.
Quick answers
Is five days too much for Qatar?
+
Not at all; it lets you add a coast excursion and a spare day for weather or relaxing.
Where should I base myself?
+
Central Doha (Souq Waqif, Corniche or Msheireb) keeps most places a short ride away.
